The Capetonian left-back was one of three players to start every qualifying match, plus all three during the Olympic Games in Australia. Kannemeyer started his career at Cape Town Spurs/Ajax Cape Town, and went on to enjoy massive success at Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns and SuperSport United, winning the League title with all three, and played 15 times for Bafana Bafana.
